LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — Human remains found near Red Feather Lakes Road in Larimer County are those of a 28-year-old woman who had been missing for weeks, the victim’s family said.

Andrea Bartmess was reported missing after her family was unable to reach her for several weeks, police said.

The remains were discovered Friday near Larimer County Road 74E mile marker 10, also known as Red Feather Lakes Road, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office said. Examiners determined Sunday that the remains are those of Bartmess, a Denver native who had since moved to Fort Collins.

The circumstances of the death were under investigation.
