DENVER — A rape has been reported that took place last week at the University of Denver, authorities with the university and local police said Tuesday.
According to the report, filed Monday, Campus Safety received a report from the Denver Police Department of a rape that occurred overnight between Thursday and Friday in the parking lot just south of the Newman Center for the Performing Arts.
The student was at The Pioneer restaurant nearby. The student and suspect returned to her vehicle, parked on the the lower level of the parking lot, where the alleged rape occurred, according to the report.
The suspect then allegedly fled the scene. Police have not released a description of the suspect.
Police and Campus Safety are investigating the case. DU held its commencement ceremonies on Friday and Saturday.
