AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — A four-week suspension has been handed to a Grandview High School boy accused of grabbing a female student between her legs.

This is an update to a Problem Solvers investigation into sex assault that led to a student walkout last week at five high schools in the Cherry Creek School District.

FOX31 first reported the district had taken no action for five months, even though prosecutors had charged the 17-year old boy back in January with a misdemeanor count of unlawful sexual contact.

The parents of the 16-year girl who reported the assault told the Problem Solvers they are furious the boy may be allowed to return to school in the fall and that it took the district until Friday to make a decision.

The suspension runs until the end of the school year. He’s been allowed an exception to take one advanced placement exam in May, and he will not be allowed on campus once he completes the exam.
