PUEBLO, Colo. — Police were investigating the death of a Pueblo teenager, after he died from a single gunshot wound to the head on Monday by reportedly playing Russian Roulette, according to a statement from officials.
Just before midnight Police received a call that reported a male had shot himself in a home on the 2100 block of E. 14th Street.
When police arrived, they found a 17-year-old boy with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The teen was still alive when officers rushed him to a local hospital, but he died later from his injuries.
Further investigation on Tuesday proved that the victim had a revolver type pistol and was seen loading a single bullet into the cylinder, spinning the cylinder and then putting it to his own head and pulling the trigger. This action is commonly known as Russian Roulette, Police said.
Pueblo Police added in the statement, the action was witnessed over a period of time until the weapon ended up firing the fatal shot.
Several other teens were at the home when the incident happened.
