FORT COLLINS, Colo. — A man who claimed he had a gun robbed a Key Bank on Friday, the Fort Collins Police Department said Monday.

Police said they were called to the bank at 300 W. Oak St. just after 3:30 p.m.

Witnesses said a man entered the bank and handed a note to a teller demanding money, police said.  The note claimed the suspect had a gun, but no one saw it. The man fled on foot eastbound with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was described as a white male, about 5-foot-11 with a stocky build.  He has brown hair and in his late 40s or early 50s. A photo captured the man wearing a blue windbreaker, blue jeans and sunglasses.

The investigation is ongoing and it is unknown if it related to the robbery of the Great Western Bank in Loveland on Aug. 11.

No customers were in the bank at the time and no injuries were reported.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fort Collins police at 970-221-6563.
