FORT CARSON, Colo. — The Army says one person has been shot and wounded in a house on Fort Carson.

Officials said Wednesday the person had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an off-post medical facility for treatment.

The Army says there is no danger to anyone else on the post outside Colorado Springs, but access to the post exchange was restricted as a precaution.

Officials say the shooting was the result of an altercation. They didn’t say whether anyone was in custody or whether the injured person was in the military. The injured person’s name wasn’t released.

The shooting occurred at about 1:20 p.m.

Military Police and agents from the Army Criminal Investigation Command were investigating.
