COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Colorado Park and Wildlife are seeking information about the poaching of an approximately 400 pound male black bear poached in Colorado Springs last week.

The bear was found shot dead in the Cheyenne Mountain estates neighborhood in southwest Colorado Springs on July 10. Parks and Wildlife believe the bear was poached late July 9 or early July 10.

Parks and Wildlife are asking the public to provide information relating to this incident by contacing Operation Game Thief at 877-265-6648 or game.thief@state.co.us.

Individuals who provide information leading to a conviction of a poacher may receive up to a $500 reward.
