DENVER — Northbound Interstate 25 was closed for several hours Sunday night after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, the Denver Police Department said.
The incident occurred at 20th Avenue just after 5:30 p.m., just as the Broncos game was letting out from Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The interstate was closed from Speer Boulevard to Park Avenue, and traffic was diverted onto northbound Speer during the investigation.
The interstate reopened about 9 p.m.
It’s not known why the person was on the interstate. The person has not been identified.
