DENVER — Street parking on the east side of the newly constructed Interstate 25 and Evans Avenue pedestrian bridge has become scarce because of ongoing construction.
“At one point there was parking on both sides of the street down here,” Beverly Glidewell said. “The bridge is done. The equipment should leave. What’s up with all of the pylons?”
“It’s pretty hard. I usually drive three laps before I find a parking spot,” Shane Oakstone said.
The pedestrian bridge opened three weeks ago. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Michael Hancock officially made it accessible to the public.
“We haven’t forgotten about those folks,” Denver Public Works spokeswoman Heather Burke said. “While we were able to open the bridge for the community, there’s still work that needs to be done.”
The project is scheduled to wrap at the end of September.
