CHATHAM, Mass. – Beachgoers helped a stranded young great white shark on a beach in Massachusetts on Monday until rescuers could get it back in the water.
The video shows the shark struggling on the sand and then motionless.
The 7-foot-long male was dragged by rope attached to a boat driven out to sea. The boat was driven by Dr. Greg Skomal of the Division of Marine Fisheries and Chatham Harbormaster Stuart Smith, WTKR reported.
The shark got stuck on the beach after it tried to reach a seagull, according to witnesses.
The shark was freed a mile off shore, WTRP said. This was captured on video by an underwater camera.
