LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — A rapidly growing brush fire in north central California forced evacuations Wednesday near Clear Lake, about 100 miles north of the San Francisco Bay area.

The fire grew to at least 150 acres, according to KGO in San Francisco. Video from a helicopter showed some structures on fire.

Calfire dispatched six air tankers and 171 firefighters to fight the flames.

The fire broke out in the southern part of Clear Lake, north of a fire burning near Lake Berryessa.

From a distance, it appeared there were two big wildfires burning near each other that sent plumes of smoke that combined into one giant cloud over the area.
