STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. — A pair of duck hunters discovered the dead bodies of a missing Steamboat Springs woman and her male companion inside a pickup truck Saturday morning, local police reported.
Page Stockdale and Mark Schiebel, 59; were found in the back of Schiebel’s 2006 Toyota Tacoma parked near the Sarvis Creek Trailhead in Steamboat Springs, police said.
All of the windows to the camper shell were closed, and there was a charcoal grill in the vehicle, leading Steamboat Springs police to believe that the deaths may be related to carbon monoxide poisoning. An investigation was underway.
Stockdale was reported missing on Tuesday after she failed to show up for a dinner appointment.
