CENTENNIAL, Colo. — A pesky problem in a Centennial neighborhood has a man at his wits end. In fact, he says it’s driving him absolutely bonkers.
It’s a problem that literally has the neighborhood buzzing.

A fluorescent light behind the U.S. Post Office on Smoky Hill Road is emitting a loud “buzz.” It’s subtle, but persistent, and Fred Lesniak says it’s ruining his quality of life.

“It drives you batty, it’s just nuts,” said Lesniak.

“It just doesn’t sound right. It’s definitely loud. It doesn’t sound like the other ones, the row of poles back there,” added Erik Sipila, his neighbor.

Lesniak has had to put up with the sound for the past seven months. He reached out to just about anyone he can think of for help: the post office, his HOA, the electric utility, the sheriff’s department, even the mayor.

But every night, like clockwork, when the lights go on, the sound returns, and Lesniak’s blood pressure goes up.

“I can literally hear the light through the wall of my house, watching television. That’s how loud it is.

It’s the pesky problem that just won’t go away. One that has the neighborhood buzzing.

“It’s a small neighborhood here so if it’s bugging one person everybody knows about it,” said Sipila.

The FOX31 Problem Solvers did approach the post office about the faulty light. A supervisor admits it’s a problem and has now promised to put in a work order to have it fixed in the next couple of weeks.

We’ll keep you posted.
