AURORA, Colo. — Police in Aurora say a man posed as a massage therapist and sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl.

Robert Richard Beattie Smith, 28, was arrested and being held in the Arapahoe County Jail Tuesday without bond pending his first court appearance.

Police released two different pictures of the suspect because of the possibility there may be more victims.

The teenager and her family called police Sunday to report a sexual assault on a juvenile.

“Police learned that the juvenile victim had posted the loss of her job on a social website and was seeking employment,” a statement from Aurora police said.

“The victim received a call from an adult male who told her that he was a massage therapist in training and that he needed to perform a few hours of practical massage therapy toward the completion of his training.  He then offered to compensate the victim if he was allowed to provide her with a massage session.”

The girl made arrangement for the suspect to come to her home for practical massage sessions for the victim and her 21-year-old sister.

“The suspect did, in fact, come to the victims’ home and began massaging the 15-year-old.  As the massage session progressed, the suspect sexually assaulted her.  Due to the mental trauma caused by the suspect’s actions the victim did not say anything in protest,” the statement said.

“Following the sexual assault of the 15-year-old the suspect began to provide the 21-year-old sister with a massage.  The suspect then started to touch her in sexually inappropriate ways, at which time she protested and brought the massage session to an end.”

The victims were able to provide police descriptions of the suspect and his vehicle.

Detectives were able to get the suspect’s tentative identification. They were able to reach him on the phone and lured him to a location where he was taken into custody.

Smith already had a warrant out for his arrest in California for a similar offense that happened July 15, 2014.

Police think there is a chance there are additional victims who have yet to come forward.
