AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — A man died on Tuesday Afternoon after getting trapped in a trench.

Aurora Fire Rescue and South Metro Fire Rescue were called to the trench collapse in the 17500 block of E. Eastman Drive at about 1:30 p.m. The victim was trapped in a 12-foot trench.

Working methodically, both agencies were able to eventually reach the man and confirm his passing. Emotional family members could be seen racing up to the scene.

A couple, who go by the names of Peter and Julia, said they drove family members of the victim to the neighborhood.

“Sorry for their loss. I’ve personally prayed for them,” Peter said,” for God to provide peace during this time.

“We just asked that, you know, they find peace with the loss of their son,” Peter said.

The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office will be the agency to officially release the identity of the deceased.
