AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — Police are investigating a homicide after a woman died from a gunshot on Sunday afternoon, the Aurora Police Department said.

Najah Jayleen Shumock, 39, was shot in a home around 2:08 p.m. in the 4100 block of S. Mobile Circle, police said, but the circumstances behind the shooting are unknown.

Police said they’re interviewing witnesses and checking surveillance in the area but there is no suspect information at this time.

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867).

A reward of up to $2,000 is possible for anyone who submits a tip that leads to an arrest and still may remain anonymous.

*This story initially had the victim as a 47-year-old woman as per Aurora police but the coroner confirmed she was 39.
