SEDALIA, Colo. — Crews from six agencies responded to two nearby wildfires in Douglas County Tuesday evening.
South Metro Fire Rescue first tweeted about the fires shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The first fire was burning south of Highway 67 off of Madge Gulch Road. It was 50 feet by 50 feet square and has since been extinguished.
The second fire is burning north of Highway 67 and Madge Gulch Road, according to South Metro. The area is roughly 5 miles southwest of Sedalia.
No evacuations were ordered. However, Highway 67 was closed in the area Tuesday night. It reopened Wednesday morning.
According to a firefighter at the scene, one firefighter sustained minor injuries.
As of 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, the fire had burned about 4 acres.
About 12 p.m. Wednesday, South Metro said the fire was 100 percent contained. Twenty firefighters were at the scene and working toward a goal of having the fire completely extinguished by 7 p.m.
The cause of both fires remains under investigation.
