LAKEWOOD, Colo. — The westbound lanes of the Sixth Avenue Freeway are open after a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

Lakewood Police Department first mentioned the incident via Twitter at 7:50 p.m. Friday.

The highway reopened shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday.

On Saturday afternoon, LPD said the pedestrian was killed in the crash.

The driver remained at the scene following the incident. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor, police said.

No charges have been filed.
