ARVADA, Colo. (KDVR) — Update (March 8): Police say Michael Kuhlow has been taken into custody.

Police responded to the 8400 block of Chase Street around 7:40 a.m. after receiving a tip that he may be at a home there.

After knocking on the door and getting no response, a perimeter was set up and Jefferson County SWAT was called in around 8:30 a.m.

At 10 a.m. Kuhlow allegedly called family members from a landline phone in the house and indicated that he knew police were outside.

He was taken into custody about an hour later with no injuries to officers.

Original (March 6): Arvada police are searching for Michael Kuhlow, 33, the suspect in a stabbing that killed one person on Saturday night.

Police responded at 7:43 p.m. to a stabbing of three people at a residence in the 8400 block of Chase Street. Two were transported to the hospital in critical condition. A male victim died and a female remains critical. Another male was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Kuhlow is described as a white male, 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He was wearing a gray or silver coat, blue jeans, and a “Yoda” hat. 

Police K-9 teams and APD drone operations were used in a large area search but the suspect was not found.

Kuhlow is believed to still be in possession of a knife and considered armed and dangerous. Call 911 immediately if you see him.
