DENVER (KDVR) — The Pinpoint Weather Team says more snow is moving into the state on Thursday and it will last until Friday morning.
A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued for Thursday and Friday morning, with impacts for the storm expected during the evening and Friday morning commute.
Timing
Meteorologist Travis Michels said Denver could get a taste of the snow before noon Thursday but will get a break in the early afternoon.
The snow will move back in for the evening commute and become more consistent throughout the night.
The snow will taper off by Friday morning at 6 a.m. but could cause a messy commute for your Friday.
Totals
By the end of the storm, the Pinpoint Weather Team says 2 to 4 inches of accumulation is expected across the Denver metro area. The Eastern Plains will have totals between 1 to 3 inches, and the foothills snow totals will be between 4 and 8 inches.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Larimer County, Northwest Weld County, Boulder County, Jefferson County, and West Broomfield County until 9 a.m. Friday. Other parts of the metro area are under a winter weather advisory.
Temperatures
Get ready to bundle up for the next few days. Temperatures will not get above freezing on Thursday for the Denver metro area. The low on Friday morning will be 8 degrees and the high will be 25 degrees.
