DENVER (KDVR) — Severe weather hit the Denver area Wednesday afternoon and evening on a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day, spawning tornadoes and dropping hail across the front range and Eastern Plains.

Tornado Watch canceled for Front Range
The National Weather Service canceled the tornado watch that was in effect along the Front Range, but continued the watch for the Eastern Plains counties in yellow on the map. The watch expires at 9 p.m.
No reports of tornado damage
The National Weather Service said Wednesday evening that it had no reports of tornado damage at this time.
Tornado observed on the ground near Brush
Storm chaser video showed a tornado on the ground near State Highway 71 south of Brush just before 6 p.m. Wednesday.
DIA delays stacking up

Some Jeffco school dismissals delayed
Due to the weather in the area [Jefferson Public Schools has] some schools that are currently sheltering in place; all students and staff are safe. Due to this, dismissal is impacted and we will not be releasing students. Once the warning is lifted we will be in communication with families about a delayed dismissal.
Nearly 500 delays, 100 cancellations at DIA
As of 2:45 p.m., FlightAware has 484 delays and 91 cancellations at Denver International Airport.
