GLENWOOD CANYON, Colo. (KDVR) — The Colorado Department of Transportation closed both directions of Interstate 70 through Glenwood Canyon due to a semitruck crash.

East and westbound I-70 between Dotsero and West Glenwood (Glenwood Springs) were shut down and CDOT said to avoid the area, but there was no detour available at this time.

The closure was expected to be lengthy and at around 8:30 p.m., the interstate was reopened.

CSP confirmed that there is no chain law required at the point of the crash on I-70 because it is outside Dotsero. The semi did not have chains on at the time of the crash, CSP said.
