COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (KDVR) — The woman accused of shooting another woman in a road rage incident has been arrested.
Destenie Edwards, 24, was arrested Wednesday, according to a news release from the Commerce City Police Department. Members of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and Adams County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest in the area of East 88th Avenue and Washington Street.
Edwards, also known by the last name “Salazar,” has been wanted since the March 10 shooting that spanned the city. She’s accused of attempted murder.
Witnesses describe road rage shooting
One witness was caught in the middle of two vehicles as they sped through the city at speeds topping 80 mph on 9th Avenue. The witness almost experienced a head-on collision with one of the two drivers as they drove nearby.
Another witness, who lived near the location where the two vehicles ended up, described “two people arguing back and forth back and forth and then you hear a pop.” The witness called 911.
