DENVER (KDVR) — First lady Jill Biden’s flight to Michigan for the next stop of the national “Investing in America” tour was diverted back to Denver, according to Biden’s press secretary.

Vanessa Valdivia, press secretary to the first lady and special assistant to President Joe Biden, tweeted at 12:20 p.m. that due to an aircraft issue, the first lady was diverted back to Denver.

In a statement, a spokesperson with the Air Force 89th Airlift Wing said “the aircrew elected to divert the aircraft back to Denver International Airport due to a non-threatening windshield crack to mitigate risks associated with the integrity of the windshield and icing conditions at their destination. The crew returned safely without any injuries to the passengers or aircrew onboard.”

Biden was scheduled to return to Joint Base Andrews on Monday evening through military air, the spokesperson said.

Valdivia confirmed that everyone on the flight is safe and that they landed back on the ground in Denver.
