FRANKTOWN, Colo. (KDVR) — The Douglas County School District says Franktown Elementary will be closed Friday due to a power outage caused by high winds.
In the alert from the school, which is located at 1384 N. Highway 83 in Franktown, the district said parents should check their emails for more information on the closure.
According to a preliminary report from the National Weather Service, a 59-mph wind gust was reported in Franktown around 5:20 a.m.
