DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Police Department says a carjacking lead to a shelter-in-place for some residents in southwest Denver Wednesday morning.

Police said a carjacking happened in Jefferson County around 11 p.m. Tuesday night.

The victim went to the hospital with minor injuries and later called police around 2 a.m. to report the carjacking, DPD said.

Police said an abandoned stolen car was located near West Hampden Avenue and South Depew Street in Denver on Wednesday around 5 a.m. At that time, police issued a shelter in place order for residents in the area.

The shelter in place was lifted around 6:10 a.m. No suspect was found.

Police have not released a description of the suspect.
