ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (KDVR) — The Englewood Police Department said a man is dead after an officer-involved shooting that happened Sunday night.

Police responded to a disturbance involving family members at around 7:30 p.m. at a home near Federal Boulevard and Belleview Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, they were met with gunfire from inside the house. 

Officers returned fire into the house. During the exchange of gunfire, a 22-year-old was shot and killed. A 29-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene.

No officers were injured. The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave, per department policy.

The Englewood Police Department identified that 29-year-old as Phillip L. Blankenship, who was arrested for attempted first-degree murder for his role in the shooting.

Police said they completed a search warrant of the residence in the 5000 block of South Grove Street.
