DENVER (KDVR) — Denver Police and SWAT were working to contact a suspect believed to be involved in a shooting that occurred in the Harvey Park Neighborhood.

According to the Denver Police Department at 12:50 p.m. on Saturday, officers were investigating a shooting in the 2000 block of South Julian Circle. One man was found and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

DPD said officers were working to make contact with a possible suspect in relation to this shooting. Multiple officers and SWAT could be seen on South Julian Circle.

After 6 hours, DPD officers, investigators and the Metro SWAT team were able to safely take the male suspect into custody, according to DPD.

The department said that the large police presence in the neighborhood is clearing and the investigation into the shooting will continue.
