LONE TREE, Colo. (KDVR) — South Metro Fire Rescue said crews were responding to what they were calling a “multi-casualty incident” on Interstate 25 around Castle Pines Parkway on Saturday.

On Sunday, Colorado State Patrol reported that all five victims survived the multi-vehicle crash.

Colorado Department of Transportation shut down northbound I-25 between Castle Pines Parkway and RidgeGate Parkway while crews worked the scene. The highway was reopened around 2:40 p.m.

Three vehicles were involved in a collision that happened at 1:25 p.m. on Saturday.

The cars involved were a red Ford F150 driven by a 37-year-old female, an unoccupied 2016 motorcycle that was sitting on the shoulder owned by a 33-year-old Texas man, and a Hyundai Utility that was driven by a 57-year-old man out of California.

Through an investigation, police discovered that the motorcycle had pulled over onto the shoulder of the interstate and stopped. The Hyundai SUV pulled over to assist. The motorcyclist got into the Hyundai and while they were sitting in the SUV, the F150 hit the motorcycle and then collided with the Hyundai SUV.

Both of the drivers were transported to a local hospital. Two kids aged 13 and 16 had evident injuries but the extent is still unknown. The motorcyclist was also transported to a hospital.

Thankfully, none of the injuries turned deadly.
