DENVER (KDVR) — Update 2 p.m. 8/18: The Denver Police Department discussed a string of violent incidents Wednesday that led to the fatal shooting of an Ohio student.

The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Shmuel Silverberg.

Original Story: The Denver Police Department is searching for three vehicles connected to a deadly crime spree on Tuesday.

Police said the crime spree started near Colfax Avenue and Grape Street at 10:50 p.m. with a car jacking. No injuries were reported.

Next, a shooting and robbery took place in the 1500 block of Lafayette Street around 11 p.m. Police said one person was critically injured.

Then, DPD said a man was shot and killed in the 1500 block of North Stuart Street, near Yeshiva Toras Chaim, around 11:30 p.m.

That man was identified by the school’s rabbi as Shmuel Silverberg, of Cleveland, Ohio. His funeral took place Wednesday morning in Denver and his burial will be in Lakewood, New Jersey.

Police are looking for three vehicles connected to the crime spree.
