LOVELAND, Colo. (KDVR) — A Loveland police officer shot a suspect Monday night, the Loveland Police Department said.
LPD was called to a disturbance at a residence in the 1600 block of Tennessee Street just before 7 p.m. A Loveland Police officer arrived on scene and contacted a male in the backyard of his residence.
The man was armed with a knife, LPD said. During the interaction, the police officer fired several shots, striking the man, LPD reported.
A suspect was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies, police said. No officers were hurt.
In a tweet at 9 p.m., the department said it happened in the 1600 block of Tennessee.
They said there was no outstanding threat to the public and said multiple agencies were in the area for the investigation.
