DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Police Department took a woman into protective custody after investigating a possible human trafficking situation.

“The Denver Police Human Trafficking Unit is continuing to investigate this incident and is working to develop suspect information – there has not been an arrest, at this time,” DPD tweeted.

Police believe the incident began out of state and due to the sensitive nature of the crime, cannot provide more information.

DPD initially reported the incident as a possible juvenile kidnapping.

The victim’s name has not yet been released.
