LAFAYETTE, Colo. (KDVR) — Police issued an “all clear” on Monday after reported gunshots were heard outside Good Samaritan Medical Center.

The Lafayette Police Department said the call was for “what sounded like gunshots” near the hospital. After investigating in and around the area, Lafayette police gave an “all clear” at 4:24 p.m. and said there are no signs of an incident at the hospital.

Officers searched the facility and Greg Moss, public information officer for SCL Health, said they confirmed there was no threat.

Moss said employees were asked to stay in place until the situation was cleared. Emergency room patients were diverted from the medical center until the situation was resolved.

Witness describes scene at Good Samaritan hospital

Katie Wilmoth told FOX31’s Greg Nieto that she had just entered the Kaiser building for an appointment:

“An announcement was made…to take cover. It was clear they were going into some sort of lockdown,” Wilmoth said. “The staff was coming out, directing people where to go.”

She estimates she was “locked down” for around 40 minutes.

“They made announcements, periodically, and the last one was ‘all clear,'” she said.
