AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — Aurora Fire Rescue said three people were rescued and more than 125 people displaced after an apartment fire Friday evening.

Firefighters had to use ladders to rescue people from the second and third floors of the apartment building in the 10600 block of East Exposition Avenue. Responders said those people did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

American Red Cross of Mile High said an estimated 125-140 people may be displaced, and their teams are on site to help those who need emergency shelter. The organization said it opened an evacuation center at Highline Community Elementary School at 11000 E. Exposition Ave.
