WESTMINSTER, Colo. (KDVR) — A Westminster apartment building was completely destroyed Friday afternoon when fire tore through it.

Crews responded to the apartment complex in the 9000 block of North Federal Boulevard at 2:20 p.m. and were immediately faced with a large-scale fire through all three floors and into the attic, Westminster Fire Department said.

Westminster Police officers made way through the building with firefighters to evacuate any residents that were home. No injuries were reported.

WFD said an explosion was reported on the first floor just after crews arrived, but has not been confirmed.

SkyFOX was over the scene, near the intersection of Federal Boulevard and 90th Avenue, just after 3 p.m. That was around the time the fire was nearly out.

Federal Boulevard was partially closed in the area while crews worked to extinguish the flames.

The building is three stories tall with 24 units and WFD said the management for the building is assisting all 70 residents displaced from the fire.
