DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — Update 8:11 p.m. Casey Devol was found and arrested in Salina, Kansas, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

He was taken into custody without incident and will remain in jail there until extradition to Colorado.

Earlier: Two people are dead and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of an armed and dangerous suspect.

Police said Casey Michael Devol, 29, killed a man and woman whose bodies were found in the garage of a home in the 2100 block of Russelville Road. Police believe the murders happened late Monday night, Feb. 7, or early Tuesday morning.

Devol, 29, knew both of the victims, according to Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock, and was at the home for some time. Security footage from the area appears to show Devol walking out to his vehicle, a 2001 F-250 pickup truck with Colorado license plate 052XPI several times to get weapons.

The two victims were in their 30s, had gunshot wounds and Spurlock described their deaths as violent.

Spurlock said his department has not had any prior contact with Devol, and they do not believe there are any specific threats, but because of the nature of the murders, people should not approach him if they see him or his vehicle and instead should call 911.

The bodies were found Tuesday afternoon in the garage by a person who was doing business at the home.

Devol lives at a house in the Franktown area but was not home when the SWAT team went to search it Wednesday morning.

The identity of the victims will be released by the coroner’s office once their families have been notified.
