DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Police Department was investigating a death Saturday evening in the 1600 block of South Hazel Court that was “believed to be a homicide,” police said.

DPD said the victim was an adult male.

Information about when or how the man died were not available.

On the scene, police set evidence markers next to an array of items including a case of beer, multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia and a knife.

The Denver Major Crimes Unit was leading the investigation.

Police told FOX31 that someone was in custody, but due to the nature of the crime could not provide any further information.

The identity of the man and his cause of death will be released by the Denver Medical Examiner.
