GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (KDVR) — UPDATE: Monday, 8:30 a.m.: The Garfield County Coroner’s Office says a 6-year-old girl died while riding on the Haunted Mine Drop Ride at the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park on Sunday. (Full update here)

A person died at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park on Sunday, a post on the park’s Facebook page said.

The incident occurred on the Haunted Mine Drop ride in the park, the post said.

Additional details were not provided as the park continues the investigation and confirms details of the incident.

The park will be closed the next two days.

In a statement, the park said:

“On the evening of September 5th a fatality occurred at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park.  An investigation is ongoing. 

“We are deeply saddened and ask that you please keep the family of the deceased in your thoughts and prayers. Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park will be closed Monday, September 6 and Tuesday, September 7.”
