AURORA, Colo. — The Aurora Police Department says a missing 2-year-old has been found alive in northeast Denver.

APD says Miracle Adu went missing about 5 p.m. Wednesday in Denver’s Whittier neighborhood.

According to law enforcement sources, Miracle’s father reported both the toddler and her mother, Tiffany Hardy, missing about 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

At that point, police had already found Hardy around 6:30 a.m. Thursday near East Fourth Avenue and Leyden Street in the Hilltop area of Denver. She was incoherent and Miracle was not with her.

Police say Hardy did not tell them where she and Miracle had been or where Miracle was.

APD Chief Nick Metz says Miracle was found inside her mother’s vehicle, which was also the subject of officers’ search.

When officers found the bright orange Fiat near M.L.K. Jr. Boulevard and North Monaco Parkway, they broke a window to retrieve Miracle.

“It was a distinct car, which really helps,” Metz said.

Miracle was crying and alert. She was taken to a hospital as a precaution, according to Metz.

“We have absolutely no idea how long she had been sitting in that vehicle,” Metz said.
