Infant believed abducted in Cheyenne found safe in Aurora; suspect arrested

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The infant who police believe was abducted in Cheyenne, Wyoming has been found safe in Aurora.

An Amber Alert was issued for 1-year-old Gregory Marks Thursday evening. The Cheyenne Police Department said Mijito Johnson was suspected of kidnapping Marks at about 3 p.m. from the 5800 block of Starwood Court in Cheyenne.

Johnson was also located in Aurora and was arrested, according to CPD.

The Amber Alert was deactivated about 10:45 p.m.

Earlier Thursday night, officials said they believed Johnson and Marks may be traveling through Colorado on the way to Texas.

Johnson, 26, is described by CPD as Marks’ non-custodial parent.

Authorities did not provide additional details on the case. More information is expected to be provided Friday.
