2 people shot inside Adams County store, police searching for suspect

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office says two people were hospitalized after a shooting inside a Dollar General on Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened in the 5300 block of Sheridan Boulevard just before 9:30 a.m.

FOX31 has learned that the two people were checking out inside the store when the suspect walked in and shot them.

According to investigators, there were two suspects involved in the shooting. The female suspect made a purchase at the register and as they left the male suspect turned around and fired several shots.

The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect 1: tall and skinny Hispanic male wearing blue jeans, black/white shoes, purple hat on backwards, black jacket, dark sunglasses and a black face mask

Suspect 2: average height/weight Hispanic female with long brown hair wearing white/black shirt, jeans, white shoes, and black coat

Two victims were taken to the hospital in an unknown condition.

Police are searching for a black BMW they believe the suspects left the scene in.

Witnesses described hearing four gunshots. They say the victims were a woman in a wheelchair and her son.

“We heard pop, pop, pop, pop and I go ‘those were gunshots,’” witness Jason Nelson-Wheeler said, adding “From what I was told, somebody was in there buying a pregnancy test and the guy that was with the girl started shooting .”
