DENVER (KDVR) — Update Jan. 4, 4:12 p.m.: The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner has released the names of the two victims following their autopsies. Mr. Devonte Phillips and Ms. Hiyaw Zewdie were both shot and died as a result of their gunshot wounds.

Police said two were killed and two were hospitalized after a shooting in downtown Denver early Saturday.

The Denver Police Department tweeted about the shooting just before 2 a.m., saying it happened in the 1900 block of Blake Street.

Three men and one woman were shot. One of the men and the woman died on the scene, while the other two men were transported to a local hospital.

Saturday evening, the Denver Department of Excise and Licenses said the licenses for the Cabin Tap House LLC, located at 1919 Blake St., had been suspended following the New Year’s Eve shooting.

“This is the first summary suspension of a liquor license in Denver since Cold Crush in 2016,” Eric Escudero, director of communications for the Denver Department of Excise and Licenses, said. “The licensee is prohibited from continuing to operate. There will be an administrative public hearing in front of a Denver Hearing Officer, who will issue a recommended decision. That recommended decision, testimony, and evidence will be reviewed by the Executive Director of the Department of Excise and Licenses, who will then issue a final decision.”

Police asked anyone with information about the shooting to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 (STOP).
