THORNTON, Colo. (KDVR) – The Thornton Police Department is investigating an attempted abduction that happened outside of STEM Launch around 7:30 a.m. on Friday morning.

Police said a suspect allegedly tried to grab a 10-year-old female student outside of the school, located at 9450 Pecos St.

According to TPD, they believe the male suspect is around 5-foot, 8-inches tall, has blonde hair, and was wearing a black Adidas hooded sweatshirt with a triple multi-colored Adidas logo, black jeans, black socks with white soles, a mask and black gloves at the time of the attempted abduction.

This suspect may be connected to a dark-colored sedan/SUV/crossover.

According to a letter sent out before 11 a.m. on Friday by Adams 12 Five Star Schools, the girl fought back during the attempted abduction, and immediately alerted nearby adults which led to the suspect fleeing the scene.

Police also believe the suspect fled in a 2006 to 2009 gray Saturn Aura. The car is believed to have damage to the driver’s side fender and door that likely prevents the door from opening.
