DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Police Department said one person is dead and three others were hospitalized after a domestic violence-related shooting.

The shooting happened around 11:35 p.m. Monday night in the 10000 block of E. Girard Avenue.

Police said three victims were taken to the hospital. A juvenile woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, according to police. An adult man was hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

Investigators found 18-year-old Ziyere Daniel, who was determined to be the suspect, dead at the scene of the shooting from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

An infant child of the suspect and juvenile victim were also hospitalized in critical condition after police said the suspect dropped the baby during the incident.

“This incident is a tragic reminder of the dangers of domestic violence,” shared DPD.
