Original (Sept. 7, 5 p.m.): The driver of a gray Honda Element, described as a Hispanic female about 30 years old, fled the scene. A Medina Alert was issued for the vehicle but later canceled when it was found empty.

Police are investigating the crash involving the vehicle and pedestrians that occurred around the 29th Street and Arkins Court area.

David Castleberry lives near the intersection where the crash happened.

“That’s when I heard it: ‘Boom, boom, boom!’ Just took off!” Castleberry said, adding that it sounded like there were no brakes, just “like stuff was crashing.”
