Broncos fall to 49ers in first preseason game at home
DENVER — The Broncos have split their first preseason games, losing to San Francisco 49ers on Saturday in the first preseason game at Mile High.
Trevor Siemian was picked as the starting quarterback. The big question: who will lead the offence when the regular season gets underway?

In the opening drive of the game, led by Siemian, C.J. Anderson had a 19-yard touchdown run.
The game was tied 7-7 in the second quarter after Siemian threw a pick 6 and Eric Reid made the play for San Francisco.
The 49ers took the lead later in the second quarter, with a four-yard touchdown run by Carlos Hyde.
Late in the second quarter, the 49ers’ Phil Dawson connected for a 28-yard field goal, putting San Francisco up 17-10.
Just before the half, Mark Sanchez fumbled, leading to a turnover. That was followed by a turnover from San Francisco. Then, Sanchez fumbled again. The 49ers held on to the lead at the half.
Rookie Paxton Lynch took over at quarterback with 12:03 left in the third quarter.
Late in the third, Lynch made his first touchdown pass as a Bronco, connecting with John Phillips. With the extra point, the Broncos tie the game 17-17.
The 49ers responded with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, setting their lead at 31-17.
Lynch connected with Durron Neal for touchdown, dropping the 49ers lead to 31-24 with less than two minutes left in the game.
But, that was the last scoring drive and San Francisco took the win.
