FORT COLLINS, Colo.  —  A 52-year-old Greeley Central High School teacher and local pastor was arrested during a prostitution sting at a hotel in Ft. Collins.

John Derek Haffner was arrested on suspicion of soliciting and patronizing a prostitute, according to the Greeley Tribune.  He was booked in the Larimer County Jail, then released on bail on Friday.

Haffner was a career and life choices teacher at the high school and was a student graduation interventionist, the Greeley Tribune reported.

He was immediately placed on administrative leave by the school.

A spokeswoman for the school district told the Greeley Tribune, that his contract will not be renewed at the end of the year.

Haffner was also a pastor at First United Methodist Church in Pierce, Colo. and an U.S. Air Force Veteran.

Haffner was one of eight people arrested during the sting at the Ft. Collins Hotel in the 2900 block of Harmony Road.
