BOULDER, Colo. — Friday was graduation day for future journalists at the University of Colorado.

Hundreds of communications graduates, wearing their caps and gowns, filled the old Macky Auditorium to receive their diplomas Friday afternoon.

The guest of honor and speaker was Holly Gauntt, FOX31 Denver vice president of news and digital content.

She graduated from CU and she had some valuable advice for graduates.

“Question not just others but question yourselves, as well. Ask yourself if you believe in the message you are delivering whether it’s a news story you write, a press release or an ad … are you compromising your values? If the answer is yes, have the courage to speak up.”

CU will hold it’s annual spring commencement ceremony on Folsom Field at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. If you’re planning to attend, be prepared for traffic jams and leave early to find parking.
