LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — A grass fire threatened homes by Carter Lake in Larimer County on Friday afternoon.
The fire was burning 10 to 15 acres near 5500 W. County Road 8E, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office said. The Berthoud Fire Protection District asked the sheriff’s office to help at about 3:20 p.m.
Six to eight homes were evacuated and dozens of other people in the area got emergency notifications warning them to be ready to evacuate.
Fire personnel from Berthoud, Loveland, Longmont, Poudre Fire Authority, Front Range, Mountainview and Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services were at the scene.
No structures have been lost, but several are threatened, the sheriff’s office said. No injuries have been reported.
The fire was 90 percent contained at 5:30 p.m., the sheriff’s office said. The fire was officially named the Sedona Hills Fire.
