Elitch Gardens and Home Depot begin seasonal hiring spree

Elitch Gardens readies for their seasonal hiring spree.

DENVER — Looking for work this summer? Elitch Gardens and Home Depot are looking to hire over 3,000 seasonal employees between them this year.

The 125-year-old amusement park in downtown Denver plans to fill more than 1,500 seasonal openings this summer, including ride operators, retail managers, life guards and sales associates.

Elitches accepts applicants as young as 16 years old, with more opportunities available for those over 18. All positions are seasonal and part time, but come with benefits.

“You get tickets for family, you get to be at the park and get to enjoy everything going on: from concerts to movies and all of the rides,” said Jessie Falk, spokesperson for Elitch Gardens.

Home Depot, the nation’s largest home improvement retailer, is also looking to hire more than 1,600 employees in Colorado in preparation for the spring and summer season.

The nation’s largest home improvement retailer offers part time and full time positions as sales associates, cashiers, operations, online order fulfillment and more. Working at Home Deport offers many chances to grow, according to Jill Wojciechowski, a store manager.

“I started with Home Depot 11 years ago… and I’ve moved my way up to manager. There’s definitely no limit,” said Wojciechowski, who started as a part-time cashier.

College students, retirees and veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
